The floor to ceiling glazed windows luxurious home office affords incredible views off the Dublin Coast towards Bray head. Whilst we wanted to avoid any obvious nautical themes subtle, nods to great seaside homes of the past provide direction for the design, chief amongst which is Eileen Gray’s Villa E-1027 in which she had designed a range of tubular steel furniture to go inside the home. The lightweight metal structures of her tables and chairs allow for less obstructed views through the room celebrating the incredible vistas available. The reflective, modern surfaces stand in contrast to the rich timber joinery and lime paint walls that bring an element of warmth to the space. Soft, velvet curtains and a kelim rug further softens the space as does the installation of large abstract paintings on the walls.
