Anam Design Studio is an award winning interior design practice headed by Liz Hughes and Alex Michell. The firm’s multidisciplinary approach is dedicated to creating thoughtful, elegant and engaging spaces that are unique to the clients requirements. Our distinct, yet​ complementary, backgrounds in interior design, architecture and industrial design brings a unique focus, enabling us to work across a range of disciplines simultaneously in the pursuit of creating beautiful design.

Our preference for natural materials and artisanal fabrication is borne out of a desire to build interiors that will age gracefully, eschewing the uniformity of overly processed and machined products for the charming imperfections of the hand made. Our designs are intended to be tactile, developing their own distinct patinas over time that can only be earned through daily use. We look for beauty in every detail that we design, creating spaces that elevate the everyday and bring joy to those who inhabit them.

Liz studied Interior Architecture at Griffith College and Building Conservation at Trinity College, Dublin. She has worked in a number of award winning architectural and design studios including ODOS architects, Scott Tallon Walker in Dublin and Fletcher Priest Architects, Align and Purcell in London. Alex studied at Central St. Martins, London. He worked in a number of high profile studios in Australia, London and Dublin including BVN Architects and Fletcher Priest Architects.

Since their inception in 2022 Anam Design Studio have been featured in a number of publications including Leibal, Image Magazine, The Times and Yinji Space and in 2024 won a prestigious IDI award for best residential interior. For more press use this link.
