Private Residence, Ireland
Here Anam worked within the context of the major refurbishment of a 1930s house, which the architects were also extending and adding to with a separate small home office building. This family home sits snugly in the surrounding environment, sheltered by trees and with views of the Mountains, a setting that lends the house the quality of a refuge or retreat.
Anam’s brief evolved from furniture to fitted joinery and wall finishes, growing into a more comprehensive design solution for the interior spaces. The home office building also meant Anam had to take on the logistical challenges presented by its business-standard IT requirements.
As Liz explains: “We were closely aligned with the architects in terms of style; the architecture is a great palette that we just added to, layered on top of.” As such, it's a project that will fit right into Anam’s small, but rapidly expanding, portfolio.
